Administrative Assistant

Job Description

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine to complex office administrative, secretarial, and clerical duties in support of an assigned department. Provides clerical support to supervisory or managerial staff, interacts frequently with the public, and directs inquiries to appropriate personnel. After initial training, works independently with initiative and sound judgment.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Prepare documents, maintain records, and perform data entry
  2. Screen calls, greet visitors, and route inquiries to appropriate staff
  3. Research, compile, and organize information from various sources
  4. Review reports and forms for accuracy and compliance
  5. Type formal communications and maintain departmental calendars
  6. Schedule meetings, make appointments, and coordinate travel
  7. Gather, assemble, and distribute department information and materials
  8. Coordinate special projects as assigned
